Effective date: [to be set on publication] · Owner: Resource Autism
Summary
Caregiver Companion stores all information you enter, and all files you attach, only on your own device. The owner of this app does not receive, store, see, or have any access to that information. There is no central server. We do not sell, share, or analyze your data — we don't have it.
What we collect
From your use of the app: nothing. The app does not transmit your entries or attachments to us or to anyone else. It does not require an account. It does not require an internet connection to function.
If you contact us by email (for example, at inquiries@thecaregivercompanion.app), we will of course see the message and any information you choose to include in it. We use that information only to respond to you.
What stays on your device
The information you enter into Caregiver Companion — including profiles, medical information, medications, appointments, contacts, and any documents you upload — is stored only on your device. It is protected by a passcode you create, and (if you enable it) by your device's biometric unlock such as Face ID or fingerprint.
If you back up your device to your own cloud service (for example, iCloud or Google Drive), the backup is governed by that service's terms and security, not ours. We don't operate that backup or have access to it.
Recovery and data loss
When you first set up the app, you create a passcode and a recovery question. If you forget your passcode, you can reset it on your device using the recovery answer. If you lose both your passcode and your recovery answer, your information cannot be recovered by anyone, including us, because we never had it. If your device is lost, damaged, or replaced and you have not backed it up, the information stored only on that device may be lost.
Sharing information from the app
The app's Email feature opens your own email app with the message and any attachments you choose. You send the email yourself through your own account. We are not in the middle of that — the email does not pass through any system we operate. Anything that happens to information after you choose to share it is outside our control and outside our responsibility.
Children's information
The app is intended for adult caregivers. Caregivers may store information about minors in their care. We do not knowingly collect any information directly from children, because the app does not collect any information from anyone — entries stay on the caregiver's device.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
We do not use third-party analytics in the app. We do not show ads. We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell or share information with advertisers, brokers, or any third party.
This website
This website (thecaregivercompanion.app) is informational. It does not require an account and does not ask for personal information. Our hosting provider may log routine server information such as IP address and user-agent strings for security and performance, as is standard for any website. We do not place advertising cookies. If you click an external link (for example, to an app store or to a partner organization's website), the destination's own privacy practices apply.
Your rights
Because we do not hold your information, there is no record of yours for us to access, correct, or delete. If you want to remove information you have stored in the app, you can edit or delete it within the app, or delete the app itself from your device, which removes the encrypted data with it.
If you have contacted us by email and want us to delete that correspondence, write to inquiries@thecaregivercompanion.app and we will do so.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will update the effective date above. For substantive changes that affect how the app handles information, we will note the change clearly.
